Home | Partners | Project | Contacts | Deliverables

Welcome.

Strategic objective: secure a clean, sustainable & economic energy supply for the EU.

Intelligent power flow management using Power Electronics based FACTS devices could build a secure & stable network.

UNIFLEX-PM will enable a transformation of electricity grids into interactive and unified supply network.

UNIFLEX-PM's potential is to enable the introduction of the concepts needed before the plan for "Future European Electricity Grid" can be implemented.

  • UNIFLEX-PM aims to deliver a key enabling technology for EC Priority Thematic Area 1.1.6.1 "Sustainable Energy Systems".

  • Power Electronics converters developed in UNIFLEX-PM will balance diverse energy sources & integrate RES DG into existing & future unified European electricity supply systems.

  • A new, modular power conversion architecture for universal application in the Future European Electricity Network.

  • UNIFLEX-PM combines:
    • Research in power converter topology & control
    • New semiconductor device
  • UNIFLEX-PM modular converters provide functionality, performance and reliability at low cost.
  • The modular concept enables mass production of standard types to achieve low cost.
  • The project includes determination of performance requirements, electrical specifications & control requirements.
