High Power Optoelectronics

Strand leader: Professor Eric Larkins

The current activities of the High Power Optoelectronics research strand include:

  • the development and application of accurate and efficient laser diode simulation tools

  • the development of new device concepts for high-brightness laser diodes and bars

  • the development of new characterisation methods for laser bars and materials

  • the development of new methods for the investigation and numerical emulation of high-power laser degradation and failure processes
